I think it can be posted here. I don't see any new stuff or different stuff, just more kids that followed the hype train.

I think people are really confused with this new marker.

Yes it is made in the SP factory but it's NOT a SP gun. It's DLX.

The reason it's made at SP is cause of the high tech machines they have. For a new company to buy those machines and compete would be extremely expensive and they would be broke before they even started. The company is owen by Darryel Trent. He is or was (not sure on his status right now) an employee of smart parts but that doesn't mean his markers are Smart Parts markers. The profit of this marker when sold to a consumer goes to DLX, and not Smart Parts. Smart Parts obviously gets paid by DLX to use their equipment, but the DLX company is in charge of this new marker.

On that note, I have held and shot the DLX and there is no way I would buy it. To me, it has the exact same feel as a Tippmann 98 and at that price tag, I would like something that suits my playing for speedball: light and tight. I don't think the speaker is the best thing either since at most tourneys like PSP, it's loud as hell and the lights actually seem to serve better in those situations. Although the price tag is very hefty, it's not uncommon. There are other markers in that range that compete with it (including the Angle 1 fly coming soon) so it's not rare in the price. The only thing that makes them very demanded at this point is the limited number right now and the way the consumer requires them. Obviously DLX marketed it this way. They want the markers to hold their value vs. most markers today loosing $500 in value after the first year. They want to make sure these markers don't go up f/s on on ebay and PBNation at below MSRP to ensure they hold their value. One team I practice with that is a Smart Parts team just bought 3 luxe markers at full price. They are don't get a discount because for 1) they are not a DLX team and 2) Either you are given the marker right now (like the pros) or you have to buy the marker full price. It's just another step they are taking to ensure the marker keeps value.

Since D Trent used to work for SP, and is financially backed by SP, it is an SP venture. Just because it has a new name and a different owner of record does not mean it is not a SP venture.

The marker won't keep its value regardless of what hype they feed the public. Do you honestly think they would be allowed to disclose a discount at this point?

Nonetheless, SP will take money from the sales of the DLX. I vote with my dollar - and none of them will ever go to SP. The only way to prod a company or an industry into action is to hit them in the wallet, and as alone I may be on this, my money will not go to SP or their affiliates. If enough people did this, it would be a disincentive to work with SP.

Just my $.02.

The luxe is all hype in my opinion. Its probable a shocker in a new shell. Haven't seen the internals yet thought but thats my guess.

I think they made the new compainy to try to get people buying their guns. Because I know a lot of people including myself that wount buy anything sp so this compainy was a way to try and trick people into buy their products

Could be.

I think it has more to do with the perception of creating a higher line marker. Much like Honda produces higher line cars using the Acura name. They didn't need to do that. They could have just sold higher priced Hondas. But it's more prestigious to own an Acura than a Honda. Right away the price goes up by several thousand dollars. SP is trying to do the same thing with the DLX Technology name. It's no secret that SP has a bad reputation with many paintball players. They aren't stupid. They are well aware of that. This is an attempt to get away from that. Will it work? I don't know. Obviously true, deep rooted SP haters aren't going to be fooled. But there are many people that buy Acuras that wouldn't dream of buying a Honda as well.
