Look closer. The mark on the tank as well as the reg looks like a concrete hit.

Wow good point, Once I saw that I looked closer at the rest of the pics and that seems to approximately line up with the mark on the reg. Hmm, this is smelling more and more like a heap of organic substance all the time...

good point.

That is a 4500+ pressurized tank! I bet you it hit concrete, dry wall, carpet, wood, glass, and what ever else was in its path! ( also in Europe most houses are built of brick )

If you look at the pic closely there are key elements that make me believe this is not fake.

1st : The dry wall on the tip of the valve.

2nd : The break is jagged, and not very smooth at any part. This means that is was either push or pulled off. It is possible that he hit on the ground except if would take one hell of a hit and there does not appear to be any damage on the side of the reg.

3rd : The most disturbing fact about this accident. Look where the Reg broke. It is a good 1/4 or 1/2 inch into the tank. With very minimal thread/tank damage. This makes me believe that the Reg was cracked during assembly or pressure test and just need some time to loosen up before popping.

"#2 Why is this crap happening in Europe all the time? I can't remember the last time I heard of a reg exploding at a US game or tourney. The last incident I remember hearing about was the CO2 bottle fatality."

Last year I had a Nitroduck adjustable regulator explode. I was holding my gun from the back and had just had it between my legs since I was putting my goggles on. A few moments later I heard a loud explosion. Unfortunately I never got photos but the entire regulator was completely destroyed, cracked in multiple places with shards of metal on the ground. It looked a lot worse than the picture in this thread.

No oil was placed in the tank nor was the tank ever dropped. I always use tank covers and the tank had the "toughskin" on it for good measure. I sent it back to Nitroduck and got a free replacement although I never got an explanation as to why it happened.

I just had a thought, half the reg stayed in the tank, therefore the only way the air had to escape was that 1/8" (estimate) hole. I doubt that tank was as dangerous as the tanks where the reg was unscrewed. If you think that the burst discs on your tank are meant to safely vent pressure and are 1/16th", that is twice the size of a burst disc venting pressure. (.004 sq. in. vs. .001 sq. in.)

That said, it is still very dangerous.

stop calling me dude. For the love of god, I have a vagina ! Let me make that public !

second, I really don't think that would have gone through the wall .. if anything did go throught he wall, it would be the tank itself

It didn't go through the wall. It just hit it. And the wall was most likely a brick wall, with perhaps some plaster over it, like 95% of all walls in Europe.

Faulty paintball gear is like a conspiracy theory here. Humans make mistakes, they also make HPA gear. **** happens.
