Legislation banning "fake" firearms

Pay particular attention to the paragraph concerning proposed legislation making transporting a paintball gun in your vehicle illegal in the state of Florida.

How about teaching your kid when it is appropriate to have and play with such things, and what to do around police?

Banning a paintball "marker" is not the issue. Airsoft guns should be what they go after. If I was carrying and someone pulled one of those out and pointed it at me they might just get something they did not want. Some are even blowbacks and look and feel like a real gun.... just not a smart thing to do.

I can understand it from the officers point of view.

Where are the parents?

Peace

Neither toys or guns commit crimes.

It doesnt do any good to allow paintball, but ban airsoft since POLITICIANS can not tell the difference. They would just ban both

I'm not worried about it. I carry my markers in my gear bags and locked trunks in my trunk. If a dumb kid wants to carry around his 98 with an m16 barrel in the passenger seat while he drives, then he deserves to get busted for it. At least down here anyway.

Yes, THE PERSON COMMITTING THE CRIME should be punished.

The problem is criminals apparently still have a vote, so politicians like to attack inanimate objects instead.

In Florida, state Sen. Gary Siplin has a bill that would prohibit individuals from carrying a paintball gun in a vehicle. He said he had been told about youngsters brandishing such guns while driving. He said if they're bold enough to do that they might use the fake weapon to commit a crime.
That needs slightly better wording...
