Mine works just fine. Though it is an older model. Still in hydro, but not for much longer, I don't think. But yeah, served me well thus far.

The pewter colored ones were great for me. Not saying they are the best, just not shabby. Aluminum reg body with stainless threads. Aluminum threads are not as good.. I wish them myths had stainless or brass threads.

If the get what you pay for was always true then the myths would suck (right? they are pretty cheap IMO) and everyone seems to like them but I am no pro by far lol.
In the Myth reg, we know their heritage (Air America) and the volume they produce at is the thing that keeps cost down.

Ive never seen a PMI reg for a gun that worked well, if at all. Might as well just toss on an expansion chamber. Their HPA regs are kindof hard to test, because we only expect ~850psi out of them , and let the good reg do the hard work.

I miss Air America, especially their slogan. "Where **** You still means something."

At the shop i used to work at we stopped carrying Pure Energy tanks all together we would have 1-2 come back per week that either wouldnt output any pressure, or wouldnt fill at all (not the fill nipple, reg problem). i think they switched to draxxus/CP tanks not sure

It looks as though I was very fortunate with the 2 I have. They are around 4- 5 years old I would guess.

No issues with the one I've had for a couple of years either.
It's a cheap one too - steel 48/3K.
I guess buying one is a gamble.

I have had a 72cu in Pure Energy tank for a couple of years and haven't had any problems with it. It is heavy, but no reg problems. Guess it will be my last Pure Energy tank.

So with Crossfire being bought out by Kee and probably adopting the same quality control standards as the Pure Energy tanks, what is left? If the Draxxus is crap too then what is the best choice?

Makes me glad I am mainly a CO2 guy. I only use the HPA stuff when it gets cold out. Used the 'Mag last weekend and had a 16 oz anti-siphon screwed in and all was well in the world.

Because paintball players are cheap and all run out and buy the cheapest version of products. Manufacturers are cutting corners as much as they can. It's not just in paintball either. If Americans (and the rest of the world too) cared more about quality and a little less about price, China and other producers of cheap products wouldn't be getting as much business as they are. But when price becomes the number one marketing tool, quality goes down. This is capatilism. Ironic that communist China is playing such a big roll in this.
