But when price becomes the number one marketing tool, quality goes down. This is capatilism. Ironic that communist China is playing such a big roll in this.

There is much truth in the above. I started to work right out of college with a manufacturing company making lawn and garden tools - quality tools too. About seven years later I lost my job and a couple years after that the entire operation shut down. Why? Mainly foreign competition of lower quality tools. Most folks go to Wally World and plop down $10 or $15 for a Chinese stamped shovel and don't want to spend $40 or $50 for a forged shovel with an extended socket that will last a lifetime.

Look at AGD - top quality mechanical 'guns and the company is only a shadow of what they used to be. In today's throw away world, why would the kiddies want a 'gun they could let their own children use someday?

Sad, really...

So can anyone list the american made hpa tank regs?
I know of only one company for shure. There were formerly a builder/desginer who sold through one company. They have now made there own stuff. Unfortunatly they are still getting the hang of things. An example would be the fact that they scrathed there heads when asked for a dealership application (after they contaced me to let me know that the regs were available, go figure) Maybe Ill just ask them to send me a few and do some T&E/ sell some at reduced rates for T&E.

I would like to add if you have an older PE tank they are fine, but the newer ones (1 year and newer, maybe even at most ~8mths) are the ones we saw had problems (right about the time kee and PMI "merged")

My tank has always leaked, but frankly, I don't really care that much. About a year old.

I had to rebuild 5 PMI regs awhile ago for a friend. They were brand new tanks; PMI sent parts to repair them, they still crapped out quickely and I think he returned them for a refund.

I've owned I think 4 PE tanks (all 3+ years old) and all but one have leaked. Can't say I'm a big fan.

My two tanks are PMI, and I have never ever had a problem with them, albeit they are older than most now adays.

Greetings,
I e-mailed a link to this thread to my KEE sales representative and he sent it up to the folks at KEE headquarters.
We'll see what happens.

Most of the problems I have seen are from the flash fills melting the o-ring on the fill nipple but that happens to all of them.
