DRG, why do you always have to start arguing about every little thing? Go make some friends.
Non stain paint, that's environmentally friendly is good for our guns also.

I tested some WPN Elixir I had. No oil as far as I can tell.

Proof? As I said earlier in this very thread, the base doesn't seem to determine whether it stains, but rather the pigment additives, such as the colorants and the "white crap" ...

Environmentally unfriendly? Prove that. My brief research shows that mineral oil may not be more toxic or environmentally unfriendly than PEG; mineral oil is safe for oral consumption in humans (and is used medically) and actually has some horticultral uses.

Cost-cutting move? Research and present the costs of PEG vs mineral oil.

I have nothing against the conclusions drawn IF they are properly demonstrated to be the case. This is MCB, I thought critical thought was a culture here (well I know it's not, but I know you guys like to think it is). So to just accept assertions based on anecdotal evidence and people just saying things seems out of character.

But I noticed that critical thinking goes out the window here when an issue comes up that appeals to "old school" sensibilities. All you have to do is trash the "new" paintball industry and suddenly the standard of proof becomes nonexistent.

Someone needs to take samples of the "layers" that settle out. Use each one to mark a swatch of cloth. Lit sit for a few hours, and then wash. My hunch is the pigment that settles to the bottom is what is going to stain.

Just a thought

Found this while researching something else ... Note this formulation of RP Scherer paintballs, from a 1985 patent:

The base is vegetable oil ...

I agree when it comes to white paint and that horrible Ti02 stuff, however I have shirts that have dark oily splotches on them - no pigment, they just have spots that look sort of wet.

I think it's the combination of pigment mixed in with the oil that causes it to stain.

That doesn't really explain cross-brand staining associated with colors like pink.

Easy enough to find out. Take some clear vegetable oil. Place on fabric. Let sit for a few hours, then wash and see if there is any staining.

I too have several shirts that have "oil patches" or what appear to be oil residue in the fabric. No specific color, just sort of like a watermark.

I had chopped chronic sit on my kila detents for 2 weeks
(forgot the marker to a friends house in other town)

The plastic just crumbled to pieces as it had been in brake fluid or something.
Water or weggie oil shouldn´t do that right?
