I think a propane pistol could be pretty nice actually. the C3 proposed 50,000 shots of a 16oz tank, meaning if a pistol had a small refillable tank and even got half the efficiency of the c3. you could have ~700 shots from a half of an ounce of propane

In order to get a dump chamber big enough to ignite the pistol would be huge. Secondly getting it to go bang(Literally in this case.) would be hit or miss with the mixture. Further more the max ROF of the C3 was four balls per second. Even if you got it to function like a C3 in any semi automatic form it would inevitably heat up rather quickly, even at its slow rate of fire.

Gotta say I thought of a propane pistol a while ago, it'd be sweet if they could get the technology small enough. A sidearm with that kind of efficiency would be great, and they could probably make it easily refillable from a bigger tank. Then all you'd need is a bunch of cheap, spring-loaded magazines. I'd shoot it even if it only got like 2bps - that's enough for me. EDIT: Maybe a chunky pistol with a mock revolver wheel as the ignition chamber? Man, I hope Tippmann goes through with that. Mmm, speculation... Last edited by ThePixelGuru; 07-18-2008 at 10:07 AM. | |

the c3 was electronic anyway, if there was a semi-pistol version just make it with a delay so you cant shoot faster than 4-5bps

Should be interesting to see if Kingman poops out the pistol they patented as well around the same time. Looked fairly similar, although maybe .50 cal from the drawings.

The Kingman pistol is my favorite design so far. I'm hoping that it simply wasn't drawn to scale.
