| PSP did something similar at Chicago. Looks like the 2 are really competing with each other.

| The PSP thing and NPPL thing are not really the same. PSP/NPPL have done 'VIP' areas for years (more so on the NPPL side) and NPPL used to sell tickets to VIP as well. It's an open-seating area with some sort of beverage service usually. They've had it at every NPPL event I've been to since the ownership change, and issued passes to various sponsors and also recently field owners. The 'VIP' area has been a 20'x20' tent, but hopefully they'll be expanding that if they're letting in another 100 people. PSP still has a VIP area (for vendors and the like); the Box Seat area is new and separate and a ticket gets you an actual assigned seat that is yours and no one elses. VIP areas (PSP and NPPL) are not assigned seating - you just grab what's available when you happen to be there. - Chris |
