Season 2 of Xtreme Paintball starts tomorrow

Sorry if I'm not writing this with a lot of fan fare. I never saw any shows from the first one... So in the for-what-its-worth department, here is the promo off of youtube:

YouTube - XTreme Paintball "Beyond The Paint" Season 2 Show 2 Promo

and for those that don't work:

The show starts tomorrow ( July 8th ) at 4:30 PM on FSN ( Fox Sports Net ).

Joy. I also don't remember seeing an episode, or hearing about it for that matter.

Is it all speedball coverage? It would be sweet if they send a camera crew to big scenario games like Castle or D-day.

Or the Grand Finale at Wayne Dollacks!

But my guess is it will be mostly speedball.

it is speedball. It's collage paintball. I agree seeing woods ball on tv would be a good step for piantball but it's not as exciting or marketable as how they present the college speedball games, if you know what I mean. There is 2 ends on the television stick.

I wasn't too impressed with the first season (no, really?), but maybe they actually made it more of a reality show and more interesting/informative. If not, someone in the sport should do one, look what the Ultimate Fighter show has done for the UFC.

Actually, the Xtreme Paintball: Beyond the Paint is Pro 7-man. It's a 30-minute show that focuses mainly on player personalities with some game coverage thrown in. (Closer to reality programming)

The college show is hour-long episodes that each cover one match. The shows focus on the game coverage, with a little bit of other stuff thrown in. (Closer to watching college football on Saturday)

I know I'd love to have the budget to do both, and I'm sure Pacific Paintball would love to have the budget to do both, but financing paintball shows is tough.

The first point of the 2008 college show is on YouTube here:

YouTube - 2008 JT Sports College Paintball National Championship

You can see the full championship episode on FSN on July 21 at 3 PM, and all three episodes are broadcast pretty much all summer on Fox College Sports.

If you haven't had a chance to see one of the college shows, you really should check it out - it's by far the best game coverage ever done for paintball.

Sorry, haven't figured out how to cover woodsball yet.

The first season of XP:BtP was awful. The matches they showed were almost unwatchable, saved only by Rich Telford's great commentary. However, I think Todd Martinez is funny, so maybe I'll watch tomorrow's episode.

It was terrible. Not only that, they really need to rename the show. Xtreme Paintball; Beyond the paint is an absolutely HORRIBLE name. It's like they're shooting for the ten year olds crowd. Which they may be, but it kinda pushes away a lot of other viewers who would (assuming the show WAS good) likely watch it.
