As a big Commodore fan, he was ...... infamous. Everyone knew his name way back in 1990.

He had pretty much the same reputation that he has now. Sometimes great products. Sometimes wicked attack dog. He was often in the computer magazines, either selling something that did not exist yet, or defending himself for selling something that did not exist.

Here is an interview filled with pages and pages of Jim Drew excuses.

Commodore users complaining about Jim back in 1994. You could replace "computer" with "paintball" and this would be very familiar

I suppose he is in the same mold as Keith Idema. Both had skills. Both had personality issues. Both failed through there own faults, but would never admit to that.

You know the original remotes did NOT have a battery. They were true "clickers".

They had little hammers that hit little metal bars and produced ultrasonic sounds. I still have our old one from our black and white tube TV someplace. It probably still works. When I was a kid I could hear the sounds, most adults cannot. It was only volume up and down, and channel up and down and power; but really, what more do you want?

Interesting side note. Sometimes when it rained the rain hitting the windows would produce the same sounds and a TV in the middle of the night would just turn on. People thought it was ghosts like in the movie Poltergeist.

My friends dads work van had similar powers. When you started it a select few garage doors opened.

I think this rule actually applies well to most things even outside of paintball.
I hope you never need a pacemaker, flashlight, hospital, modern vehicle, wireless communication device, etc... An open mind is a good thing.

WAS needed to die a long, long time ago. Jim Drew, owner/operator, was a thief and a cheat, at best.

The PC you're using right now has a battery. Even if it's a desktop PC, it's got a little one to keep the clock running, remember the date, and remember various startup settings.

True, but russc is still right.
Computers hardly make a good investment.

does this mean i'm not getting my TurboRevII board i was promised?

That sux, Revolution Board was better than TurbRev, but the paddle that came with the TurboRev was better than the Revvy paddle.

Heck, i remember heating up the Revvy Paddle so that you could bend them upward and let them cool like that. Awww, back in the days!

Instead of installing a device that causes a heart attack to prevent a heart attack I say let me die . . however, it is a good tourture device if you have said victium jog a mile. So the power lines won't work at a hospital? Good reason not to go camping! or to put breaker boxes in an easily accessable place other than the basement. Gas prices . . . yea lets bike. I wish people would stop calling me as it is and would give me a good reason to go home and be with my girl.
