Good.

Every state should do this.

As for meetings, my field does it, but lets you play if you're late and missed it. Another field I went to has a taped orientation that repeats itself by the registration booth.

both are nice ideas that could be implemented better, but it's better than fields that don't have any.

how about some REAL legislation regarding paintball:

1. Permanently ban Monster Balls
2. Prison time for wipers
3. Free-speech legislation ammended to dissuade debate between electros and pumpers
4. Ditto for woodsball vs speedball
5. Outlaw bunkering
6. Mandatory steroid testing for tourney players

This could go on and on and on and on and on...

OUTLAW BUNKERING!!! ARE YOU NUTS!!!

Bunkering is a SKILL that takes a lot of time to develop the timing and ability to bunker a player who is trying to take you out. (and yes, I realize the above post was tonque-in-cheek...)

AS for CT passing this law, it is moronic, and they did this instead of passing a budget to run the state.

I think that a realistic paintball law that we should support would be to classify any crime committed with a paintball marker to be in the same category as using a deadly weapon/firearm.

I don't get it... I really don't:

Why is it that people take this stance on principle that they don't like being told what to do by the Government? Why does that suddenly nullify the fact that you agree with them?

Lets take the following statement as being true:

People should/must wear eye protection while playing paintball (at every field I go to it is a 'must')

So, now the Government agrees, and there is an uproar? The loudest complaints are from people who object to being told what to do, or complain about the waste of money (which seems in a few cases to be a rationalization for simply not wanting to be told what to do)

I don't get it? The Government agrees with you...

Both of you have the same INTERESTS, but you are arguing about the freaking principle!

sigh... it smacks of a child who won't do something because he resents the authority figure, even though it is something he would have wanted to do anyhow...

whatever... you people are all crazy... yes, MAr is calling you all crazy...

Simple: Americans don't like being told what to do.

Been watching this since it was first proposed.
It ran something like this:
Parents let child organise a backyard game.
Child gets shot in face (no mask) and now has reduced visibility in one eye.
Mother starts petition to ban paintball.
Lawmakers respond by creating new law.

We all know that any legal paintball field has all these rules in place, and more. So the law really does not affect any legitimate business, but here's the kicker:
Quote:
Failure to comply with this section shall not be a violation or an offense. Failure to wear an eye protective device required by this subsection shall not be considered to be contributory negligence on the part of the parent or such person nor shall such failure be admissible in any civil action.
In other words, it's a law that has no consequence. If a parent holds a backyard game and someone gets hurt, the new law states that they can not be held accountable.
