TigerStripe Paintball (dba Special Ops Paintball) winding down operations

Quote:
That's right...Tiger Stripe Paintball which has been doing business as Special Ops Paintball is winding things down. Slow sales and the general economy have forced this decision.

That's the Bad News!

Now for the Good News!

I am starting a new company.

The new company is Extreme StitchWorks and is a Soft Goods Manufacturing company. We will specialize in providing custom Soft Goods as well as small to medium sized runs of production Soft Goods manufacturing. We will do this for the paintball industry as well as other industries. Players and teams will be able to purchase custom Soft Goods products from packs, vests, and apparel to gear bags and accessories. Dealers and manufacturers will be able to access our production capabilities to bring in existing products or to have their own products developed and manufactured in small enough quantities to be able to offer low risk innovations as I will be able to offer very reasonable MOQ's (Minimum Order Quantities) at wholesale prices.

Soft Goods have been recognized as "What we do (did) best" at Special Ops Paintball and I plan to continue to bring the players the gear and accessories that they want and it will all be made right here in the USA.

I will also be leasing the rights to the Special Ops Brand so the brand itself and the store site Home page | Special Ops Paintball as well as this forum, will continue on. Effective immediately, my new company (Extreme StitchWorks) will take over fulfillment of all existing and incoming orders. Resale items and close-out items will continue while current supplies last. Special Ops Soft Goods and select Hard Goods will continue to be available indefinitely.

So, while this is a sad day, I am very excited that we (Extreme StitchWorks) will be able to continue to bring you new and innovative Soft Goods and that we will be able to continue this forum. Please watch for some great new products that we have in store for you over the coming weeks.

The short version is that the names and faces who have been associated with the SpecOps Soft Goods Dept will continue producing goods under the SpecOps brand name. The new FusionX lineup is in production now, and I know we've got other great stuff coming down the line. SpecOps hard goods will be operating on a much smaller scale, and we won't be operating as a redistributor/storefront anymore.

While it's hard to see this happen, I'm personally glad to see us moving in the direction I've always seen as our strength, soft goods.

Lo

Part of me liked them for trying to come out with initiative products, the other part of me hated them for the "Hype Sells", ah the almighty dollar.

I stopped buying from Spec Ops because I only had bad luck with my order being correct when it arrived at my door. It was a rare occurrence that my order did not get fubar'd. I hope they can make this better but for me it's; several times burned, twice shy.

I'm completely lost. So basically SpecOps is just a soft goods company being ran by the same persons under a different different name but leased the rights to be called SpecOps???

Ah the corporate shell game. Tiger Stripe Paintball was DBA (doing business as) Special Operations Paintball, of which SpecOps was a brand. Tiger Stripe Paintball is now out of business. Extreme Stitchworks is now going to lease the SpecOps name from (?) the defunct business (? ) the creditors (a bank maybe) (?) the trustee for a bankruptcy court (?) the former owners? Who knows?

In addition to the economy being in the tank and business in general being tough, some of you may recall the H&K vs Tippmann Sports LLC lawsuit had an additional defendant called Tigerstripe Paintball. I would suspect that this might possibly have a small role in the current situation. I am sure all the parties involved are playing musical chairs with the liabilities and trying to figure out who gets the last chair. It is game you prefer to get out of early and nice guys most definitely are not good at playing.

Here is the word from Brian aka Moati of Extreme Stitchworks, as posted on the Special Ops forum:
Quote:
Let me try to explain it better...

Special Ops was never a company...it was a brand.

Tiger Stripe Paintball was the company that was doing business under the brand name "Special Ops". They leased the rights to the brand from a holding company that owns the brand name.

Tiger Stripe has now gone out of business.

I started Extreme StitchWorks and I am leasing the brand name "Special Ops" from the same company that Tiger Stripe did.

So my company will replace Tiger Stripe in the grand scheme of things although we will focus on Soft Goods instead of everything and I will keep the Special Ops brand alive.

Does that clear it up at all?

And for the record, the Spec Ops forum is alive & strong, and will not be going away anytime soon.

Think of how USPL owns the rights for the NPPL. Granted I have no clue if USPL bought the NPPL or if they are leasing the NPPL name.
