On more occasions than I can count, I've been well concealed in a tunnel and have REMAINED undetected as I placed single shots, one after the other, spaced several seconds apart, onto opposing team members.
I wanna go! What state is this in?

Guess I'd know that if I looked under your avatar.
I was just taken by that wonderful paintball field.

you could have the quietest gun on the field, but once you shoot, people will know where you are
I disagree. Sure it's not going to work all the time but it might help some of the time - like camouflage, all it takes is a bit of background noise, other people yelling, shooting, etc. I know I've been pinned behind cover & had trouble telling where the paint is coming from at times.

af895 - Is that Arnold or Action Commando? If it's Arnold they have really changed the layout since I played there last.

"SXC" actually. They bought out "T2" and completely changed the place.

Huh I never heard anything good about T2 so I avoided the place - might be worth checking it out now!

I have a ported blazer and unported typhoon. The blazer is definately more quiet, but the crack of the typhoon is great for scaring the crap out of newbies, and some not so newb players .
