My Blazer is here...now what?

Ok, I purchased a 1k Blazer and it arrived today. Now I have couple questions.

~What is the chrome piece under the barrel for? (Decoration?)
~My Lapco Autospirit says "Cocker" around the middle ridge. I haven't been able to loosen the barrel bolt yet (and I am afraid of stripping the head), so I haven't looked to see if the size matches the nickle barrel. What do you all think? Is it a Blazer barrel?
~The last owner said the bolt needed to be adjusted. I have been informed that that Blazers don't need bolt adjustments, but it may be a timing issue or bad bolt pin(?) issue. What do I look for?

Help me out!

The peice is an volumizer off a pre 99 cocker, it does little.
The lapco barrel was turned to fit the blazer, almost doesn't matter what it was for to begin with, this is common, I run an Angel barrel on my Blazer sometimes.

as for adjustments, try dry firing it first, then with paint, before making any changes.
The lrp on the pass side of the marker, has a screw in the front for bolt pressure.
