| Post Whore Join Date: Apr 2006 | KP rivets. I am wondering what to do with the trigger guard on my KP. As of now it has the split rivets holding the trigger guard in place. I am going to refinish the stock but would like some ideas to look into for getting the guard remounted properly. There is no doubt the guard has to come off to accomplish this. I just want to make sure I do it in a sound way. I am planning on drilling the rivets out, Is it okay to drill them? |

You'll need a special tool to redo the rivets or you can use screws but they look like garbage... You can sand it down with the stock and even hit it with the same oil .. they look real good... ![]()

I took a narrow slim standard screw driver to lift each leg into a position to pull the rivits. Of course you want to protect the wood and be oh so gentle. I reused my split rives and the guard tightened right up. I have a true hardware store that I use from time to time that I plan to take one of the rivets for them to match up. These guy's always have been able to help me. Goog luck. |
