| Rec Poster Join Date: Feb 2007 | Weight of Brass Barrel (around 11"-12")? I'm looking for a precise answer with a scale, not a guess. Does anyone know the weight of a brass pps barrel (11"-12")? It doesn't matter whether it's vented or not. Thanks, Shade

| Supernatural Anaesthetist | What kind of barrel? Blazer barrels, for example, are going to weigh less than most others. Autococker barrels will probably be the heaviest with the large OD area near the threads (and, if it's an older 'Cocker barrel, the 1" OD "ring" to hold the front of the shroud). |

| Supernatural Anaesthetist | Compared to the cost of most barrel "kits", it's not that bad. Somewhere around $140 sounds about right. And believe me, it will shoot amazingly well. Unless you really like the looks of the double porting, you could save yourself a few bucks. I doubt there is much (if any) difference in the sound signature between single & double porting. |

Just for personal preference, I like having my guns be as quiet as possible, so spending the extra $18 isn't that big of an issue. Actually I'm thinking of first getting one for my cocker, and if I feel it will balance well enough I will get one for my Phantom. I still feel that 10.2 ounces will feel a bit different compared to a stock 3 ounce barrel on a 2 1/2 pound gun.

I'm really looking forward to it on my cocker, since I normally use an 11 ounce JT Two-Piece on it. It will definitely be the most expensive one-piece barrel I've ever bought, though. Hehe.
