Weight of Brass Barrel (around 11"-12")?

I'm looking for a precise answer with a scale, not a guess. Does anyone know the weight of a brass pps barrel (11"-12")? It doesn't matter whether it's vented or not.

Thanks,
Shade

well my 8" PPS barrel is as follows:

PPS 8" barrel A5 thread unvented = 145g or 5.12 oz

145 divided by 8 = 18.125g per inch

so 18.125 x 12" = 217.5g

so a 12" barrel should weigh in at approximately 217.5g or 7.7oz
this will very depending on finish and other options such as muzzle breaks.

What kind of barrel? Blazer barrels, for example, are going to weigh less than most others. Autococker barrels will probably be the heaviest with the large OD area near the threads (and, if it's an older 'Cocker barrel, the 1" OD "ring" to hold the front of the shroud).

That's a good weight. Not as heavy as I thought. Right now, I'm looking at a Double Vented PPS Barrel for both my Autococker and Phantom. Of course with the Autococker barrel, it will cost a small fortune with double venting, wedgits and nickel plating.

Compared to the cost of most barrel "kits", it's not that bad. Somewhere around $140 sounds about right. And believe me, it will shoot amazingly well. Unless you really like the looks of the double porting, you could save yourself a few bucks. I doubt there is much (if any) difference in the sound signature between single & double porting.

The total for the whole shebang comes at $155 dollars total. I really hope it shoots great.

Just for personal preference, I like having my guns be as quiet as possible, so spending the extra $18 isn't that big of an issue.

Actually I'm thinking of first getting one for my cocker, and if I feel it will balance well enough I will get one for my Phantom. I still feel that 10.2 ounces will feel a bit different compared to a stock 3 ounce barrel on a 2 1/2 pound gun.

Yeah, I'll agree that the PPS barrel does bring down the front a bit, but on my 'Cocker, it balances nicely with a small drop and a Ricochet 2k on top. When I used it on my Sniper II with a 12 oz. tank and a 130 round hopper, it took a while to get used to the front-heaviness of it.

I bet it will take a while with my Phantom as well, but the weight might be more of an issue because of the fact that it's rock and cock. If I do get one for my Phantom, it will most likely be a Black PC and unported. I might just stick to my stock barrel on the Phantom, though, considering I always use good paint with it anyway.

I'm really looking forward to it on my cocker, since I normally use an 11 ounce JT Two-Piece on it. It will definitely be the most expensive one-piece barrel I've ever bought, though. Hehe.
