| Rec Poster Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: South Carolina | What's a Typhoon go for these days? Hello, I'm having a little trouble selling my Typhoon. Most seem to think my price is a little steep, but I honestly don't know what a fair price to ask is. Here are the specs: PPS vert feed Typhoon Spiral vented barrel Vertical air w/ bottomline Matching UMB with duckbill CP shorty reg Single trigger, PMI grips Sight rail Clamping feedneck Manual, lube, wrench, blank warranty card Nickel plating is slightly rough under barrel and on back of feedneck, but is not a visible defect I'm currently asking $700 with no offers...this setup would retail for around 1k, and is less than a month old. I was under the impression that Palmer's stuff held its value pretty well and that vertical feed Typhoons were considerably less common than left or right feed variants. It also has the blank warranty card. So what do you think it's worth? Is it just not selling because the market was recently flooded with the wall sale? Any help is appreciated. |

Unless it's in a wood stock or a unique Blazer or other "one off", the sales price can be less than half of the original cost. I have a Typhoon that I love but never shoot. I would sell it but for the fact that it seems more "cost efficient" to keep it. I purchased my Typhoon a few years back for $3-400 and I would be surprised if I could get any more than that for a "standard" Typhoon these days. By "standard" I mean, like the others. BBT Typhoons and Blaphoons are worth more than a standard Typhoon for example, regardless of details of porting type or accessories. Unfortunately, about the worst way I can think of to invest one's money is to buy a PPS paintball gun from PPS. You will not achieve anything but a loss if you try to flip it. On the other hand, you can get many times the dollars you spend in smiles if you just go ahead and use it to play paintball. Good luck, D. |

I wonder if the smaller paint is hurting the value of the phoons. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3332&rd=1&rd=1 The above link had a double 45 and appeared to be in good conditon. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...8024&rd=1&rd=1 The 2nd one was in very close to mint condition w/ a nickle reg and matching highlights. My guess on value would be between $300 - $400. Good Luck with the sale. You may do better in the Spring. |

| MCB Member | I would not buy anything new from PPS if I didn't intended to keep, just like every other marker. It's almost impossiable to make a profit on a marker in the short term, esp if the company is still making them years later (Typhoons and PPS). Buy and hold on to things, maybe you'll make some coin 5 to 20 years down the line (like KP's), or lose a bunch (AGD and Mags) Noticed ever since PPS has been having sales on Blazers (ex. Twins deal), that the resale on all of their semi's has gone downhill. Supply and demand is exaclty what's going on right now. Too many markers, not enough people interested. You can pick up a nice used 1K Blazer from PPS for $325 now, dirt cheap. However PPS pumps seem to hold their value better. Less of them I guess.
