Blazer question/help

Well as you all have seen I recently got a Blazer. Luckily it is the second one I have owned so I am already familiar with it. There is one thing strange about this Blazer compared to the other I had. When I first received it last Thursday, I took it apart to give it a good thorough cleaning and inspection. I noticed that the sear had a spring contacting it forcing it in the upward position where my previous Blazer did not have this. Further investigation of the Blazer while cleaning found that there was not a trigger return spring inside the grip. The spring that is contacting the sear resides in the valve guide retaining screw and the sear has two little notches in it so the spring won't slip. This leads me to believe this was a deliberate possible factory modification, not just something that the previous owner put in there. The spring is tapered on one end and this is the same end that goes into the valve guide retaining screw.

Like I stated previously, I used to have a Blazer and it didn't have this and after looking at the Blazer diagram on the PPS website I am now curious about this since it is not shown there either. The trigger works fine and is nice and light. There are occasions where I don't think the trigger wants to return fully, but that may be due to something else because the timing could use a little adjustment. I can take pics later tonight if needed, but any help would be appreciated

Thanks guys!

Edit: Pic!!

blaers should have a sear pusher spring contacting a brass pusher inside the frame.
the trigger itself is usually assured return by a small coil spring that just assures the 4 way has some return force.

A blazer will not operate without some sort of sear return spring, regardless of set up. I could look inside blazer proto 1 and see if that's different, but I doubt it.

Used blazers often have the coil spring missing (silly), safety missing (reward stop of trigger is now frameage), anda host of fun retimings, but I have never seen a missing sear return, since you would only have gravity to assure the hammer to catch.

sgt-spam, I will post a pic later when I am able to get home and dissasemble it.

incynr8, the trigger return spring is missing, not the "sear pusher spring." The spring I am referencing is acting opposite of the sear pusher spring.

that would be why the 4 way feels 'sticky' on occasion, unreliable return. removing that spring is a futile attempt (since it is the weakest in the system) in decreasing trigger pull, which is better accomplished other ways.

My .45 framed Squall has a similar spring acting as a return spring. It's hooked above the trigger assembly and latches to part of the bell crank assembly. That spring is in place of the standard 'coil' spring. It pulls up rather than the standard Blazer return spring that pushes forward.

That spring would act as a return spring. It pushes down on the sear, which pushes down on the trigger.

I don't have enough Blazer experience to know why the spring you've drawn is there...

I have two pre2k Blazers One currently in pieces), and neither one has a spring there. I've had three others from time to time, and I don't remember a spring.

It's not shown on the Blazer Diagram.

Remove it, and get part #48 and #49 from Palmers. It looks like someone did a "custom" mod to that one...
