Changelog for Blazers?

I've been looking at quite a few pictures of blazers lately and noticed a few small differences. Mainly the length of the ram. Anybody know all the differences between generations of blazers? Are newer ones better or are they pretty much the same?

Cheers,
Kenny

The changes are between the Pre 2K and Post 2K Blazers. You can tell the difference most easily by the size of the ram, and the length of the bolt (and the fact that the serial numbers are either lower or higher than 2000).

Post 2K's also have dual detents, a different style masterlink and different barrel dimensions. There's a fairly comprehensive thread over on POG about all the differences, but I feel lazy right now and those that I've mentioned are the major ones. The changes are supposedly to make the gun more durable and reliable. That being said, lots of people have Pre 2k Blazers that are 10 years old now (myself included) that are still going strong.

This may be the link you were thinking of. It is the one that came up most recently.

IIRC, the timing window of the 1k Blazers was very small, making initial construction more time consuming. The new design lengthens components and slows the gun down slightly and the window for happiness is much easier to achieve.

I have one of each and actually play more with the 1k, but that is primarily due to it's kickass config (CF, back bottle w/ hardlined vertical Stab and original style grip frame) but the 2k Blazers are, aesthetically at least, a lot more pleasing than the 1k's to my eye. Another key innovation in the 2k that I appreciate is the addition of a lug on the bolt. This prevents kinking and also protects against the expulsion of the bolt from the back of the gun following malfunctions.

The 2k's are so smooth that they barely make any noise when you cock them.

Good luck,
D.
