A lighter hammer will be kinder to the valve pin, and I did strengthen the valve spring already, thought ambient temp. here is below 60* at present time.

| MCB Member | Not sure if it will do good. It may be possible to improve some things with a lighter hammer. If you lighten the hammer and then simply use a harder main spring to open the same valve, you are not being easier on the valve pin <which doesnt need being easier on> but you may be able to use the same mainspring or lighter, and a lighter valve spring and make it work. I dunno. Tinker Nelsons and sheridans work in a very different way, thats for sure. |

And since I've always held you opinions in high regard, it is only fair that I share with you exact details, as to how I've been coordinating my test so far. First off, I' am indoor. As a matter of fact, my gear is being stored in my basement, which is also serving as the prime location. My powerlets and Pug are in the same closet. The balls are being shot from the inside of my basement, and I keep my basement at around 65- 68 degrees. So I do have reason to be concerned. Yesterday, I found a nice spring that is slightly conical, with just a little more firmness then the PPS I had in the Pug. It showed absolutely no changes in efficiency what so ever. My first eleven shots start out pretty much how I want them, the next magazine starts dropping off. I know the marker is holding its pressure well, by the time the powerlet reaches empty, it will just vent off. That is not a helpful fact, I know, but it does tell me that there's a significant amount contact from the hammer to the valve pin. I didn't hear any leaks though. I'd like to drill a series of holes through the hammer, and use a slightly shorter main spring. If I botch it up, I can always get me a new hammer. But would doing this help with efficiency?

If you got it used, there is a chance that someone took it apart and there's no telling what was done....... Resprung? Valve alignment? Different valve stem? Good luck........ Walker

FirePro84(his actual name's Tim) @ PPS had this to say from the ongoing What Are You Wating For From PPS? thread... "splattttt: that Pug was also across my bench recently...guns like these just make me want to build my new one more." I know they test them before they send them back, but I doubt they're willing to check for efficiancy. Unless that was the reason it was sent in for, which it wasn't. I'm sure that in warmer weather, it will do better... Has anyone seen that chart, that lists how varying tempearature effect co2 psi ratings recently?
