quick question

How do you get the p-block off of the ram shaft? I'm getting a small leak from the cap so I want to take the assembly out to replace the o-rings. Also, can the orings be replaced with the black ones you get at the hardware store or are they treated or something. Palmers is closed on sunday and I'd like to get it back together by tonight.

btw, I think I have the older style p-block which is much skinnier than the ones on the new blazers and I've already removed the set screws, it's just that the thing is stuck on there.

She said she needed the makeup to look pretty for me. I told her that was what the beer was for. I don't think she's coming back...

Your Blazer has the upgraded master block in place of the old p-block. I should know, I put it on myself.

The master blocks have a very tight fit. Tight enough that I bet you could almost get away with not using the set screws. I was concerned about how tight it fit when I first tried installing it, but Craig told me that at the shop they have use a plastic mallet to tap them on to the ram shaft. I ended up using the wooden handle of a hammer.

Basically, I don't think that thing's coming off without the use of whatever tools PPS would use to remove it. Unless there's something I'm missing.

You may not have to pull the P-block to remove the ram shaft...I dont knnow how far into it you got. I am able to unthread the ram cap and extend the shaft all the way, which gives me just enough play to clear the cocking pin from the the slot. My gun is also a pre 2k without the verticle slot milled. If you have to remove the block from the shaft...just pull the set screw and slid the block off.

The way I get mine off is to gas the gun up so that the ram is held forward by pressure. Then I used a wooden dowel and a hammer to tap the backside of the masterlink until it was off far enough that I could slide a flat head screwdriver blade in (wrapped in electrical tape) to pry it off. It worked like a charm, and there were no scratches. I've done it twice now.
