If you you are twisting your tank/reg out of the asa, then the same movement will be tightening the asa onto it's threads. It's more than possible. It may even be likely that the threads are reversed. Good luck, D.

| Mod-O-Rator  Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Finleyville, PA | They should be a standard 1/8" NPT fitting, unless PPS went and pulled a brass eagle on everyone. Get a fabric strap wrench. I have one of those rubber ones, and they arent much use for any high tourqe applications because they tend to stretch.

You will need a 1" 5c collet to go with it. The fitting is 1/8 NPT into the gun and will take a lot of force to get it out. |

| Seasoned Member  Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Akron, Ohio  | Well... It's off... I took it down to one of the machine shops we use, and the guy used a HUGE set of channel locks.  There are a couple marks in the part, so I called and ordered another, along with a spacer that has the PPS logo. While ordering I learned that the new vertical ASA parts are aluminum anodized hard black instead of stainless which explains the black ASA on my Super Stocker. Craig - thanks for the link. I found a 5C block set and 1" 5C collet for ~ $40 online, so I ordered them both. At least that way I can do it the right way from now on. I left for the machine shop TWO MINUTES before you posted the link. The story of my life...  Anyway - thanks for the help / advice guys. I'll get some pictures taken and posted of the rebuild progress... |
