PPS semi-auto ram pressure question

Anyone know what the minimum pressure is to move the ram on a Palmer's semi? I'm hoping that it'll operate at sub 100 psi. Not the whole gun, just the ram assembly.

if you're just trying to make the ram move alone it should work below 100 psi no problem, same as a cocker ram. If you link it to the bolt and hammer assembly it will probably take about 100 or more due to the spring resistance and friction of the bolt...depending on what gun you are talking about as well...never actually tested one, maybe i should do that one of these days, heh.

what exactly are you trying to do and what ram assembly are you talking about?

I am looking at modifying the pneumatics so that I can recock the ram (and I suppose the bolt and hammer have to go along for the ride) using a solenoid to drive the ram instead of the 4-way.

it's been done before i'm sure, I know Doc did an e-phoon before and so did Punisher if i remember correctly. If you plan on using an E-Blade style noid they are supposed to run at around 80psi and on the E-Blazers they start getting a leak if you go over about 100 - 110 or so. you can probably use a different type of noid like one for a timmy or something and get the pressure a bit higher without any problems.

That's exactly the noid I was thinking of using. Should it be okay on CO2? As long as I can keep the liquid out, right?

Typhoons run on about 80 psi.
Strokers are about 90.
Blazers 70 psi.

Longer main springs require less pressure.

Do the micro-strokers still come in around 90 like their big brothers?

I'm getting excited, this might work. Giggity!

They may get up to 100 psi.

Most guns average around 80 -90 psi A QEV can allow the ram to get up to speed faster allowing a small drop in pressure.

Putting a solenoid on one should b doable.
