PPS has a crew that wears many hats... During busy times, the site tends to get left alone... We assume that the current paying customers would rather have us work on the guns/items rather than playing around with the site.


Most of the work that we have been doing to the site is on the admin side. The faster we can process orders, the sooner you get your items. The site may look simple on the outside but if you could see under the hood you would know its a race car.

And don't forget that we just moved over to a new server a several months back.. So, we are basically starting from scratch again... PPS's site is now one of the most secure sites in the industry with complete PCI compliance.

I am just now finally getting around to cleaning up the the stock installed items...

We are trying to keep the system very simple and easy to use. It's built so just about anyone can run the admin. God forbid anything were to happen to me, but if so, the staff could carry on without me.

We will probably never do a forum or anything else that would require constant attention. Forums also have security issues.


I have also been playing around with drupal, wordpress and few other CMS systems to find the right one.. I have found that the cart system won't provide what we need for content.

There is not much to look at but you will get the idea of what the future main page will look like. ( it takes a while to make a blog not look like a blog
Why blog software? For built in admin. Anyone can run it.


Emails... I do emails about twice a week or so and those are pretty much the ones that staff can't answer. It is possible that mails get lost during forwards. We get tons of email every week. My response time also slows down during peak times.(like now)

I visit Mcarter about every other week, slam out a bunch or replies and get back to work.

Unlike most companies.. I list my personal phone number in my signature. I am always only a phone call/text massage away 24/7.


PPS is far from dead. We are backlogged several months on some custom guns.

well, with Bud Orr pretty much gone (rettired), the only ones to worry about's the Gardners!
