Tiberious 8 brass barrels?

Has anyone ever inquired about making a brass barrel for a Tib8? I was thinking about getting the (newly released) extended barrel for mine, but then I got to thinking...

Brass barrel from palmers.
- Would add a little more weight to the gun (good for me)
- Would be able to get a smaller bore than .691 (also good)
- Would be able to get one in a custom length
- Shouldn't be hard to manufacture, as long as they are familiar with the twist-lock design (duh)
- Porting may also be a definate bonus (for longer barrels)
- One word: Wedgits
- One more step towards PPS World Domination!

Unless any of you have already asked, I am planning on calling them up soon. I suppose sending the entire gun in would be good for fitting purposes (as apposed to just the barrel).

Thoughts/opinions?

I actually looked into this a little while ago. Basically, the response I got was a one off would be in the area of $250-$350 and if they did a run of 100, it'd still cost somewhere between $125-$200.

Basically they need someone with the deep pockets to pay for them to get setup to make them easily, and then the price will drop.

Well sh*t! I guess it's time to take a poll!

Also...added "wedgits" to the list.

I'll have to think about this...I'll probably still call them up. Who knows, mabe this could work? I mean, If I could get 200 people to say they would buy one, then it might start to become more of a realistic purchase. I mean, it's already easy enough to go spend $100 as is on a custom barrel.

Question to aid in my thought - are Tib8 barrels interchangeable with anything else (like the Tib9)?

Lapco is coming out with a bigshot for those barrels.

And i would assume, other bores will follow eventually.

However, i believe it's not much longer than the stock barrels.

Which, the Lapco or the aftermarket Tiberius barrel?

FYI the aftermarket Tiberius barrel is an inch and a half longer than stock. (all you Tib8 owners - looks the same as if you unlock the barrel and just let it sit out on the spring).

From my understanding if the barrel is machined correctly it can fit both the Tac 8 and Tac 9, the 9 barrel needs to rotate to allow the hopper feed orientation. I know End Game is offering barrels for both markers and the bore runs .689. I also just found out recently that Hammerhead is making a barrel for the Tac 8, no fins, but didn't' see anything about one for the Tac9, again bore size is .689.

Good to hear that there's *finally* some other aftermarket barrels for this thing in the pipeline. Cool. And, yes, I'd totally get one from palmers, in an unfinished brass .

Thats what I'm thinking. Does anyone know about how many people actually own and operate Tiberius pistolas? I don't see much about them around here, but they are more of a mil-sim marker anyway. I suppose I'll have to go headhunting on other forums for this info unless any of you have a vague idea...

I don't think you'll need wedgits on an open bolt gun.
