A few silly Pog questions.

Well since my resurgence into the fold, a few things have been bothering me. First off, which forum is where most of the POG'ers hang out nowadays? Did RP ever retrieve the original POG list with our numbers on it? Why isn't Tim working at PPS anymore? Can anyone answer these questions for me?

Someone mentioned that Tim has a lot of school work right now, but he should be at POG weekend.

A bunch of people post over on POG, but it doesn't get nearly as much participation as it did 2 years ago. A lot of people post in this PPS forum, but I don't know how many are POG members. Hope that helps.

Yep... according to Tim AND Craig... Tim has to go to school. He will be at POG Weekend. Nothing would keep him away. I just saw him this weekend at Travis AFB "Red Dawn." He's a paintball whore.

RP is on POG Forums once in a while. He just posted HERE the other day.

Yes... the POG list is available. If you need access just PM me your name... I think I can find the password. If not I have a copy.

Seems MOST Palmer activity is on MCB now days... but paintmagazine is STILL the Official home of POG.

I kind of feel like it is a shame that PPS has their own forums now. It will only add to confusion. POG is the place to go, but a mountain of PPS men and a woman or two are here, so this gets traffic out of convenience. I dont cruise through POG as often as I did either..no love.

I got fed up with Pog after the last server farq. I just decided why bother registering over there if I am going to have to do it again and again.

Likewise, it always felt like there was too much going on over at Paint. It made my head hurt sometimes.

However, I do not mind the PPS site at all. It is a good source and an archive of collected PPS wisdom. As for causing confusion... doesn't bother me at all. A confused prospective customer is just a weakened buyer waiting to be sold.

PPS does not have a POG forum. Its a FAQ for new customers and official information forum for returning customers. Think of the PPS forum as depository for the FAQ that I answer on many other forums. Heck, I even installed an rss feeder to the forums that our customers frequent with direct links. This means that my site filters new customers into the user forums.

About Today - Paintball Palmer

I spent several years supporting the forums only to have the information deleted twice because someone did not make proper backups. I refuse to have to that happen again. It does not make much since for a company to be dependent on one source to supply its information. PPS also needed an easy way to add accurate FAQ without having to know how to code HTML. (other staff, ect..) This is the only way that I can guarantee that info will be retained, without it, PPS is at the whim of the admin.

My goal was to create a user friendly shopping experience, and the forum is part of that.

I think most people are leaving paint because it uses free forum software that doesn't have nearly as many features as vbulletin. I even had login issues for several months.

Nice response. I understand now. I agree with you, and the fact that the data on POG has been lost several times is a shame. It was one of my first online homes so I am sad to see it dwindle, but what can anyone do.

I'm register on POG but can never log in, change password, or even re-register. It sucks cause people post some nice things for sale there and not here. I have no way of showing interest.

I, too, have pretty much given up on the Paint Magazine forums. I can get the same or better PPS info here and on the PPS forum. About all I do now is look once in a while at the Sale threads.

Sad but true... POG was also my first 'home'... The traffic there is so minimal now, and I have found that most of the die-hard Palmerites congregate here...heck, even CP replies on this board...that's gotta say something. The PIC thread here is better, the resources are better, the forum is just overall better... never even got my POG membership...and I applied twice!
