Palmer Pyre help Leaking badly

I just traded my buzzard for a broken Pyre. The pyre leakes very badly from the valve area and down the barrel. I have removed the valve and have found that 2 orings were in place though it looks as though there should be a 3rd. Are there any parts diagrams out there? Anyone else have this problem?

I tried a myriad of orings trying to figure it out on my own and I could not get it working.

I got it from pizzaluvr. The adjustment nut on the stab was all the way in and stuck as well. I fixed that and backed it way out almost flush with the end. I really wanna get it fixed, can't wait to see how she'll shoot.

Also, you will find that certain aspects of the Pyre are found in the parts diagrams for the 2K Blazer.

Also, the built-in Stabilizer in a Pyre is going to require the same Orings and such that a normal one does.

If you track down these previous diagrams you should be able to give yourself a little self help if you already have the rubber and the know-how.

Otherwise, a call to the shop (as mentioned) will solve all your woes.

Good luck,

I must say, I'm curious as to how the valve seal or Stab could be blown by simply maxing out the stab. PPS internals are usually pretty robust.

If you get TOTALLY frustrated with it I'll jump in line to take it off your hands. hehe.

^^ I'm not sure if that is how it happened or not. Leaks just the same though.

I plan on keeping this one for a bit, may just send it to pps, but was hoping to fix it on my own so I can play with it this Wednesday night.

If the rubber in the Stab or valve is blown or cut up, your gonna wanna order replacements from PPS. They use Urethane. It's my understanding that other types will swell up & "not work". You might ask if you could get something at the hardware store that can get you by till the seal kit arrives.

Are you sure you didn't just drop the pressure so low as to leave the valve unseated?
