Get the pyre! i used to use my r/t a-5 but ever since i got my kp last summer i havent played semi once since then. and besides playing pump makes you feel 100 times better when you get someone and its generally just a whole bunch more exciting playing with a pump

You guys are soooo AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really do appreciate all the responses, Now i hafta, make up my mind ,flip a coin, let my wife decide, consult a fortune teller..LOL
Im guessing it will be about a month maybe 2 (when the tax return shows)
That i,ll place my order.
But thats cool, as after i decide which marker i then i get to decide which options. Im thinkin i,ll meet up w/some folks here in Floreeduh at some pump games, to get a feel for what i like best,as i dont think my local dealers carry any pumps.

THANKS AGIAN ! Fog

I wouldn't. I love my blazer dearly, but I tried one just dry-firing (no air) at PPS and compared to the Pyre, the blazer w/ pump is a very poor substitute.

A blazer was meant to be a semi-auto, and that's where her sweet spot lies. A blazer w/ pump kit is outgunned in the pump arena VERY quickly by the pyre.

I take my pyre onto the field against electros even before I take my blazer, and I often end up doing better.

When I feel the need to hose, I take my blazer, but she's quickly moving to my 2nd marker of choice (primary backup if you will), with my pyre becoming my go-to marker of choice for most situations (including most speedball games, with a few exceptions where I'm dead in the water w/o a mech semi or faster). And I've been a semi-auto player for most of my time playing paintball. That says something about the Pyre's ability to perform.

She'll also do well on 12g's and stick feeds. just get an RF or LF pyre and bucket changer. You've got a built-in reg with the pyre and so you get a near ideal set-up for running 12g's on the vertical (and NO hoses or external air lines, how about that!)

I wanted a high end marker, but I dont have enough cash to buy two guns. So for me the best choice was a Blazer, mech semi auto I can trust, and a pump kit, seems really smooth to me! Im really happy with what I have, but if you can afford it im sure a Pyre and somthing semi for the paint slinging matchs would be best. I chose diversity probly because im not good enough to shoot pump all the time, but its freaking fun! Either way I think going with PPS is the first proper step in choosing your new marker.

Here's my Pumped up Blazer:

good luck, and enjoy your choice.

THing is that if you've got the guts, you can go toe to toe against electros with a pyre. I'm not talking firepower either. It just pumps smooth and fast so you can slam in another ball VERY fast if need be. With the blazer in pump mode, you've got alot of drag with the ram that slows the whole process down. It may be smooth, but it's not at all close to what the pyre can do.

Like I said, my Pyre is becoming my main go-to marker for everything, except for certain speedball matches (not all). Most speedball matches I still tote my Pyre. I just carry full 150rnd pods on me as well. If field geometry has me screwed on playing pump vs. wagner power painter, then I will bring Veera out.

I agree you can field a pyre in open play just fine. all a matter of preference.

I would still consider a bZ plus pump kit to be a good option however, but it won't have A/T or be as smooth.

I gotta second SB's last two posts. The Pyre is now my first choice, and I have a fairly good selection of Palmer goodness to choose from (BZ, EmQBZ,Typhoon, Pug). For me it is a more fulfilling game play experience.
