"seriously, as a business, you always review your prodcuts and decide if you should continue them or discontinue them."Craig charges T/M for Hurc woodwork out of a Sheridan stock. Its the labor of work that they charge for, about 1 hr. (just spoke to them few weeks ago about it). If you are requiring more labour for woodwork, non-Sheridan per se, they would frown at it, as its more labor time not performing Brass labor. They did not have any concern about performing the work. pm if you want the cost of my scratch O/U. An e-hurc was quoted at $3-6K, as its in a realm they are not jigged, ready and tested in. So your paying for all the Q/A (think many Hours of labor here) as they build it for you, which makes the price very reasonable considering that.

I have about $1300 in mine, just under $250 for the KP and around $1080 for the build and labor. It took 9 months almost to the day. I would guess that reason there are no price list for the conversion is it's a total custom job. When I ordered mine I called Lori and we went over some ideas, I made a few choices and they worked it up. I got the black zinc and nickel breaks, I also don't care for the big drop down asa, so I just have a standard asa I run a remote too. Hope that helps.

If you really want to go "on the cheap" you could buy a vertical bottle Nasty Typhoon and monkey with the 3way, trigger group changes, stock inlay etc yourself or have someone do it for you.

Skiddish: Really...hmm...what I might do is, if that's the kind of thing you'd offer, have Palmers build me a Hurricane sans-wood, then have them send it to you to put in a stock. That's one idea, definitely.

| Well if all that's involved is just cutting small notches etc. then I don't see why not...I have no idea what is involved so I'd need to see what is required to make one first...I did want to place that offer out there for you though

| From what I've seen of disassembled Hurricanes (All of it, thank you those who provided me pics a few months back) and from disassembling KPs, all that's needed is to bore out the stock to fit a brass tube and trigger group, drill a hole for the bolt that holds it on, drill a hole for the 3-way to sit in, and notch out places for the hoses to go. Not incredibly intensive. |
