silly question, but is it possible to remove the Blazer's standard center feedneck and replace it with a clamping one?

Yes, fill the neck with a paper towel. Then cut the big part off. That will leave a 7/8" stovepipe that you can clamp the neck on to.

hmm alright. i don't have many tools used for cutting besides scissors, an axe, and a hack saw, so i'll just spring the money for one fresh out the shop.

The hacksaw works just fine doing this mod. The key is, slow and steady.
