I am really interested in this as well. I have been considering buying a Painter at some point and would like more information.

Think of it as a modified Houndstooth and price it out accordingly.

Basically it's a HT with a trigger group instead of a grip frame, then you pay extra to have it mounted in a stock. If you want CA, you can see that a KP CA conversion will cost you $120, I'd expect CA on a painter to be similar. If you get something with 12g in the lower tube, you can put it in the stock with no modification and your cost would probalby be within 10% of a similar HT.

No difference - they share a lower tube and trigger group with the KP family.

I'm converting a Typhoon into a Hurricane using a Bluestreak trigger group and stock.
