Re-barelling during a Hurricane conversion

So, after coming to the realization that my beloved KP-2 may be too small a bore for...well, all my local fields (.685 bore, I believe, but the smallest paint I have available is .691, so lots of squishing ensues), and my desire to get a mechanical backup to my Cyborg, I'm thinking about trying to trade my KP-2 for a KP-3 or KP-2DF and having it Hurricaned.

However, I fear that the KP I trade for will have the same tiny barrel, and thus the same problem. So, when I send it in for work, how much would it cost to have a new barrel with a .690 bore put on it?

Best bet, as always, is to call the shop (916) 923-9676, but I am fairly certain that your smaller bore KP can be honed out to whatever diameter you wish by PPS.

No need for a re-barreling.

Good luck with your build.

Drum,

I had this done before at PPS - I know it can be done.

I would trade the KP-2 for the KP-3 or the KP-2 DF and some cash then get it Hurcanized. No sense in butchering a KP-2.

Yeah, that's my plan. It's a customized one, too, top-tube 15-round spring feed. Looks like half a Nasty.

New barrel was $75 when I had it done - may be a little more now.

I HAD to get a new barrel when I had a KP converted - it was butchered pretty badly, and PPS said they couldn't save it.

Basically gives you a scratch built for less money - you'll have the KP lowers, which are pretty close to a PPS setup anyways, but the PPS barrel.

Get it rebarreled, sell the barrel off to someone who wants a smaller-bore barrel for a project, and you'll probably break even.
