| Pyre Question I am stuck trying to decide between an Oak Pyre and a Series 6, but I don't want to discuss specifically that as there are plenty of versus threads here. I am more curious with the maintenance of the Pyre. I have heard a lot of PPS guns should not be worked on and need to be sent back to PPS if something goes wrong. Is this true of the Pyre? I figured since it was a pump it would be simple as hell to fix. Any ideas? |

| Hawaiian-shirted hooligan | Usually if something goes wrong it's a mater of a bad o-ring or needs lubrication. Once in a while you get something a little weird that really requires an airsmith or sending it back home to PPS. Also, yes the Pyre is a pump, but it's also a Blazer without the pneumatics and a built-in Stabilizer on the side. It's not a Phantom in terms of field-stripping and cleaning. I'm seriously considering one of the very guns I said I'd never, ever sell (Sterling) just to be able to get a Pyre.

| MCB Member | PPS guns are user serviceable but it takes some know how that usually does not exist anywhere but in Sacramento. The Pyre is like any pump gun in that it is simple. A savvy paintballer should be able to take care of it himself just fine. I would get a pyre because they have super high resale value right now. You wont find one much cheaper than new, if you can find one at all. If you decide you want an S6 (which from what I hear, you wont) than you can easily sell your pyre. Used S6's can be had pretty cheap though and that is an option id consider. The pyre doesnt have a back block though...which is a good thing. If I bought new, id buy a pyre.

| I to have been questioning this. I went with the S6 and Party went with the Pyre. I have them both here right now. I am trying to compare the two. I will post up some pics and let you know with my opinion.

| Watching your threads is like watching a squirrel decide between the acorns on the left, or the acorns on the right .. then noticing the ones in front of him .. and then the ones a little further to the left .. and then the ones that were on his right initially .. and then the ones behind those ......
