Lubing the Hurricane Bolt(s)

I got flat delrin o-rings in my hurricane, do I need to lube them up with oil?

?

I 'upgraded' to delrin o rings on my Blazer a couple of years back, and oiled them as I had the rubber rings. After a while they got very tight, to the point of interfering with smooth bolt operation. I put a thread about it on POG forums, Craig suggested clipping the rings a little bit, before doing this I cleaned them off and left them for while, when I came to do the clipping the bolt was sliding as normal so I never did it, i don't oil them now and they slide nicely.

According to the material properties Delrin shouldn't swell with oil, but my experience was different

I trim, file and fit the flat rings when I retro fit them.

Yeah there is some serious interference with sliding the bolt in and out on the lower tube on my O/U hurc. I think I'll sand the bolt down a tad (you can see a grove forming on the bolt from interference) and clip the rings.

Yeah I might replace the lower rings, I got a ton of them floating around.
