It arrived today, and I think every shipping company sent a truck down my street this morning.

This is my first PPS anything.

I really want to put it in some wood. But I don't know how to do it. Does anyone have a picture of a P68 next to a kp stock? How much room would be left on the bottom tube for the pump? If there is not enough, I was considering making it bolt action. Also, what is a good price for a kp/bluestreak stock and a trigger group?

Well you are going to have to drill a nice sized hole for the bolt of the stock between the valve and the hammer area so that you cant mount the gun into the stock. You will also need to drill 2 small holes in the back to accomadate the pin of the trigger grouping to hold it in place. Of course I would contact someone knowledgeable about that to get the exact measurements. You will need a longer cocking rod and a shorter pump handle to accomadate the length of the stock. I would also install a velocity adjuster into the trigger group so that you can adjust the velocity. You will have to cut the stock so that it can accomadate the entire length of the lower tube. I believe that you will also have to trim the sear a bit so that it can clear the slot. As far as trigger groups and stocks go, I have seen them go between $50 to $75 each. I think it would be cheaper just to go get a KP.

As far as wood, you will also need a different hammer (didn't see that in Himurax's post...maybe missed it) Rainman may have a couple for sale still...

Is there some kind of break in period for a performance tune? I am still only getting about 20 shots of a 12g. Maybe the velocity is high, but I didn't change a thing since it arrived. I don't have a chrono, so I don't know the velocity.

Lowering velocity will drastically increase your shot count. You should be able to get more than that. Probably 260 FPS or so will get best results for efficiency + good velocity. 280 + will start to hurt it. Temperature is a factor.

The P68 wasn't made in Racine, WI. It is stamped wit Bloomfield N.Y.

I just thought that was cool.

I just can't get the feel for brass. This is the second brass gun I have owned but, it just feels awkward. I may be putting this up for trade later. I just want to keep it a little longer.

Try changing the grip frame to a 45. Get an adapter plate from Noxx55. Then just put any Cocker grip frame on there. Get a ne wpump handle from PPS they are no shorter and slimmer. Way more comfortable in my opinion.

Just some things that might help make it feel better to you. It took my awhile to get used to brass but now I love it.

I was shooting in my backyard and after 20 shots or so, it began lobbing balls. So I unscrewed the 12g, and it hissed out air for about 10 or 15 seconds. Why won't my gun use the whole 12g? I pointed it at the ground while screwing in the 12g.

How fast are you taking those 20 shots? Taking that many shots in rapid succession will cause a major temperature drop in the 12 gram and take your efficiency down with it.
