what paint to use in pps .690 barrels?

what paint do you find works best during the rather humid summer months? I was using proballs brand paint this past weekend, which was working fine, until around 1pm, when my blazer would no longer fire. Reason? The balls swelled to such a degree that they got STUCK in the barrel. I don't mean they were impeded by the wedgits. They were jam packed in that barrel, i had to shove pretty hard with a swab to get them out (one got stuck and 4 more got stuck right behind it). Happened one more time, switched to the typhoon, and got the same problem. Eventually switched to Karnage tear and was fine the rest of the day. Is this common? What paint have you had luck with?

I was able to use some of the proballs later during a speedball game using a mini with a freak barrel (.695 insert).

that's interesting. Over here in Ohio I am lucky not to get any roll outs when using a .684 freak back. RPS premium, Draxxus blaze. BTW wedgits are my friend in my PPS markers for the small paint.

I think Evil is like .689 so it should work pretty well, I hear nothing but good things about it in terms of quality, fill consistency, etc. Over on that "other site that shall not be named" in the paint section they have a pretty comprehensive list of paint with diameter measurements. Can't vouch for how accurate it is, but it's a very thorough list.

Do you have shallow-mid-deep wedgits?

i'd say mid, but irregardless, the balls were stuck in the barrel past the wedgits . . .

Were you playing paintball ON THE SUN?

That's some hardcore swellage to get stuck in a .690 barrel. Was it really humid as well? Were the proballs fresh, or had they been in storage at a warehouse in the middle of the Everglades?

I use either EVIL if I want a tougher ball I can shoot into light brush ...
Or ALL STARS if I need a fragile easy breaking paint.

Both shoot very well in .688 / .690" barrels

It was hot and humid, but it certainly didn't feel like the tropics, nor the sun. No one else had problems with their paint, but i was the only one with proballs. (it's byop at our field) it was just proball paint from AV. Just going to order karnage from now on i guess.
