Stabilizer Ports...Come on PPS!

Anyone else notice that the gas ports on Palmer Stabilizers are extremely tapered? The plugs they supply with them thread in roughly two threads before they really start to bind up. I don't know if they don't fully bottom out the threads, or what... Very annoying, and not something I would expect from PPS. I shouldn't have to crank on every fitting I screw in.

Well I don't have a lot of info on that, as I never had to take mine apart, but there are both tapered and non-tapered NPT threads. Maybe they just sent the wrong kind or tapped the wrong kind accidentally?

They will be tapped "1/8-27 NPT" ... National Pipe Thread which is a TAPERED threading requiring the SAME male 1/8-27 NPT to fit it properly.

The issue is that most of the plugs arent tapered like the fittings and such.

I would at least expect Palmers to send tapered plugs with the Stabilizers then... I had to dig up a much shorter plug and really crank it in there.

I've had that problem on the unmarked nickel stabs I've owned, but never on a black one. Then again, the black one is a "Stabilzer" anyway, so who knows what else happened to that run

Generally the guys at PPS are damn good about that stuff. I'm sure if you called, they'd send you an angled ASA plug free of charge. They love to keep the customer happy.
