Ram "sluggish" on Squall / Typhoon

I finally got to take my new-used Squall out to the field yesterday, and I noticed something that wasn't there before when I tested the gun out at home about a month ago. The ram didn't snap back to recock but just sort of crawled back slowly, and likewise when I released the trigger it just slowly crawled back forward.

It wasn't a matter of input pressure into the gun since balls would fire out at a good velocity. It also wasn't the Rock because adjusting that would indeed change the "feel" of the bolt when all the way back (eg. mooshy, "superball", or rock-hard) but it did not affect the sluggishness of the bolt movement.

I removed the grips to make sure I wasn't pinching any of the hoses, but it didn't make a difference.

Any suggestions on what the cause might be?

I don't think this issue existed when I first received the gun and gassed it up, because I'm *pretty* sure I would have noticed it. But there is, of course, a small possibility that in my excitement to just make sure the gun worked that I didn't notice it.

As an aside, good thing I had my trusty Pug with me so I was still able to have a lot of fun at the field - including a one-ball end-to-end moving-target headshot to clinch a game Still love my PPS guns even though I seem to have bad luck with the semi-auto systems once in a while!

Could it be the timing causing it? I know that if the timing is too far out, the ram will lock back, so maybe if it's just a touch out could it drag like that?

Can't see it being timing - it'd have to be WAY out to cause that.

More likely what Incynr8 said - apply oil, and not sparingly.

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”

Whenever I've had this problem on cockers it's been the 3-way O-rings. As said, oil might help.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the 3way set screw was pushing the collar off center...

I still haven't had an opportunity to take out the Squall to cycle a whackload of oil through it, so I will certainly take a look at the switch's collar when I am finally able to sit down and tend to the poor thing!

Thanks for the advice, guys!
