8 - I like the light/shade combined with the DoF.

Still getting used to lens. f/1.4 @ 0.8s, handheld with no HDR or post.

Not bad, looks very HDRish. A little blurry, but not bad! I like it!

slightly over exposed (especially the skin/hair light side on the front woman) for the colors, would have worked better without the yellow shirt and having the back person stand on a small box to elevate head so the chin isn't hidden would have been a big improvement on this shot.

I know this could have been framed better, but using a super crappy point and shoot 2MP with no view finder it came out ok I think.

7/10. Like you said, could be framed a bit better...

Taken with tmax 400 and using a piece of developed (unshot) 35mm CN as an orange filter.

I didn't see the cat until last minute, and it scared the crap out of me. I have a thing with cats LOL. Other than that, I like the photo, just seems a little sideways for some reason.

Here is my photo. These were just candid shots that I took to try silhouettes.

The picture is over exposed: to bright. If you toned it down a little it might have been a better image. I know it is in daylight but the dog and grass is to bright for my liking. It kind of wants to burn my eyes just by looking at it.

Just my opinion anyway. I'm going to give you a 6 for making the attempt. I'm no expert either but i am learning slowly but surely.

The cat was one of the first things that i saw but didn't know how to comment on that picture to much white i guess, but over to your picture. It feels like it is missing something yet i think it is a good shot. I like how everything draws me to the black parts of the image. I give it a 8/10 until i can figure out what i feel was missing.

Here is a picture i took of a few flowers that i think came out pretty well.

The problem with "flower shots" is there are so many mindblowingly exceptional ones already taken. Yours has a good angle but look at the big picture, dead flower near the two blossoming ones, house/fence with no interesting details just cluttering the background interfering with your main subject. You could have lets say used a black cardboard as background and a tighter crop on the flowers I assume you wanted to capture, and the picture would have looked a lot stronger. Also your camera crop cuts the stalks off the flowers, leaving a snapshotty feel. I dont know man, sorry for the harsh critique

To keep things paintball related, here's one from the 2011 Millenium Series Paris event

9.5/10 very sharp and crisp, nice action shot! Maybe if you got the end of the barrel? I think it is great without it though.

with Canon XT and a 17-40 f/4.0L @40mm and f/4.0.

awesome focusing with suck shallow DOF.
the only problem i have with this picture is the black of grass in front of the snake.
id say 8/10 just because of the grass. it'd be at least a 9 maybe a 8.5 if it wasnt there...
maybe the fact that hes about to shed and has that milky eye look takes away a little too but theres no controlling that

shot with my canon ae-1 and probably my 28mm? i dont remember
