Just putting it out there. For some people, like myself, video is needed if I don't want to lug around two cameras.

Ah, I wish I had a 1D

Using a DSLR for a video camera is like using a Porsche for towing your jet skis. Sure it'll do it, but there are a lot better vehicles for the job.

Each to his own. I had the opportunity to use a 7D for a trade show I covered and I loved it. Lightweight and very good with quality. I use an XL2 for my primary video camera and I found the 7D to be a much more suitable option for what field I work in.

Josh I almost wanted to put that photo of Chris under your post.

I'm checking out the $600 1D mkii's also. They have all the goods for just great images. The 7D is just a Rebel on steroids to me and the 1.6x is a shame for the price.

Good choice on the mkii OP.

I have a good chunk of money from working a side job and it's either a efs 60 macro or save a little more for a 1d mkii. I actually like my wide zoom and I have a 70-200L and often find myself needing both lenses so I may get a 1d. I'd like a larger sensor for my L, so many options though!

5DMKII theres large sensor for you for a fairly reasonable price, especially when bought used.
