I hear bad things about the durability of the 1.4.

Not sure on the next lens for me. I suppose something that will reach out a bit more. I really want full frame, so who knows though.

Edit: Josh, if you know of a better deal than the 269 one on the manfrotto and head, let me know by all means.

Also, I took you off my fb forever ago, no hard feelings but you get into a lot of religious arguments that aren't my thing. I suppose I will go re add you lol, your chill, if it still goes, I can just remove em from the feed.

I had one I picked up from worrptangl. He probably had a lot more experience with it than me considering the ship rolled and it met its demise... :[

It's a great lens for the price. Better than it's Canon equivalent. It's a big lens also.

I have a canon 70-300 and it's a great lens for the money, only thing is that it is missing the macro.

The fan is for defogging the lens at dawn and has its own timer and battery pack in the top compartment.

I'll be using that at the runway for Endeavour's flyout next week.

So, last underway there was some guy shooting pics of a ceremony on the flight deck. It was broad daylight and his flash kept popping up (It was a BRIGHT day) and going off. He kept looking at it funny and popping it back down only to have it pop up for the next pic. He looked embarrassed every time he shot a pic. I was trying so hard not to laugh. Oh automatic mode, :]

Edit, he was using a canon entry level DSLR, think T2i

Most likely the boats camera. Mine had one also and the yn's always did the same thing. I tried to get it after someone dropped it down the hatch but they wouldn't give it up. It was fubar'd to hell the lens was stuck on but looked like a freaking slinky. Oddly enough it still took ok pictures. I really wanted to put it to the test and really get some unque photos with it.
