Been a couple days and it still isn't turning on. Just going to send it in for warranty, should only cost me $9 to have it replaced or refunded. Just disappointed that it's out of action while I'm on vacation.

I got this little guy, Nikon Coolpix aw100 seems to handle water great. Took it into ocean twice so far and no trouble.

But that might also be b/c when we get the chance after each time we would fill a bowl with tap water and soak the camera in that after cleaning the ONE door seal. Manipulate all the buttons while its underwater to make sure you get all the salt off each button's seal, and pull it out and let it dry.

My regular camera suffered the same fate today, went to use it and a card read error came up. Now it won't even turn on.

Really liked this camera, worked great for me over the past 3 years.

Second camera this month

I was surprised it leaked, since I was extremely thorough about making sure the gasket was completely clean before each use and like you mention, I would leave it in a bowl of tap water after taking it in the ocean.
