old cannon AE 1 programable camera and telephoto

Question about older film style cameras.
Now with digital cameras being so common and film getting hard to find are the older cameras worth anything?
We have a Cannon AE 1 programable and a Cannon 70-210mm telephoto lens that we are thinking about selling but have no idea of the value, if any that they have.

the AE-1's can be found all day for $50 or less an old FD zoom like the 70-210 might be worth $20-30 I'd say you might be able to get $75-100 out of it. Best advice I could offer is if there is a local high school that offers a photography class to students would be see if you can sell it to one of them. Reason being is most high school photography classes start with 35mm so the students are required to buy one and with digital being all the rage they have to seek out old farts that still have gear like yours collecting dust in a closet.

I know personally I used to do quite a good business selling used 35mm SLR's to the high school kids. Buddy of mine ran a pawn shop and would let me know when they came in I'd buy em all for a couple hundred and then sell each one for $75-100 depending on what it had with it. Guy at the pawn shop sold em to me cheap cause he knew they would collect dust in his cases for months before someone came wandering in.

It is a great old camera, very versatile. I used to have one years ago, got stolen have always missed it.

I don't take pictures anymore.

Be careful what you say, it might come included with a PMI1.

From another post for anyone who is curious.
