Old School Look, New Camera (What to buy)

I am in the market for a camera that has that old school look, but is digital. The issue I have is that I don't like spending time developing film and then scanning pictures to get the old style photographs. I just like to take the pictures and simply upload them asap! I am open to ALL suggestions and my budget is around $500, of course it can be less! I like being able to focus on certain things, and it would be nice if the camera is somewhat small. Thanks again!

Fuji X10 or X20 would be a good bet, if you don't mind that you can't change the lens.

This ^^. If you're looking for the old school film camera aesthetic these are the best 2 options. I'd say go for an X20 as it has a zoom lens on it so you can get some reach when needed. That is if it'll be your only camera otherwise the X10 with the prime lens is lots of fun and a tad cheaper.

I'm a huge fan of Fujifilms new stuff. I borrowed an x100s the other day and absolutely loved it.

If you can source an used x100 in your budget, go with it.
If you dont like to post process, the jpgs from x100 are about the best you can get.
Not to mention that its just plain fun to shoot.

I understand your interest in the overall appearance of the camera body, but set that aside for a second and recall that the results are what matter. It's LENSES that really matter and these days you can get KILLER deals on OLD Nikon glass.

For the money, you're going to get WAY more camera if you were to consider a used Nikon body like a D300 which would let you mount and meter any of Nikon's classic manual focus AI and AIS lenses. Hence, my vote would be:

Nikon D300 used (from a reputable seller like KEH, not Ebay)
Nikon AI 28mm f3.5
Nikon AI 50mm f1.8
Nikon AI 135mm f3.5

That would do nicely. The lenses should all go for about $80-$90 max, less for the 50mm...
