you sure it's the Main Logic?

Those are notorious for burning processors, with all that wind tunnel cooling, you'd think that wouldn't be a problem.

Also, there's a recall on power supplies on those.

The old capacitors bulging thing.

If that's what happened, it might be covered if you check with Apple even if it is the Main Logic.

I have a feeling that 20 years from now, the G5 will be seen as the Lisa of the 21st century. Great idea, really cool, innovative design, but flawed in execution. I mean, the G4's topped out at 2 GHz, but at least their case fans didn't spawn hurricanes every the machine thought to hard about something...

5 years from now these are all doorstops!

I have a nonbooting G5 that simply HAS to be either a dead proc or bad board.
I changed the video that died last year and all else is fairly new in it.

Being an 'early' g5, I doubt it is even worth throwing 5 bills at it.

Although the 'new' g5 was 2650 to replace it.

Error beeps?

No power?

Does the button light up?

I know they have a recall on the Power Supplies, the power light lights up, sometimes you get boot tone, but no boot.

It might be free, if you have an apple store around, and they will test the Power supply for free for you.

Still could very well be a power supply. I've been seeing that issue alot with those. You have more than one available?

They are a bear to swap out, but it might save you quite a bit to make sure first.

Even if it isn't covered, Power supplies new from apple are only $200, and probably less on Ebay.

If you want, I can PM you with a pin out test for trickle power with a meter.

Just let me know, I will not be able to til tomorow.
