Hmmm, black n white. Bummer. Great for books, sure. But I have about 50 gigs of comic books on my hard drive that I'd love to copy to an e-reader type device one of these days. Just not an iPad.

Well, I'm posting this FROM the Kindle 3 browser and let me tell you it works well! I won't be writing any books using the Kindle but this is a great tool for reading on and offline.

take a look at Pixel Qi and Notion Ink

Notion Ink Adam a week ahead of schedule, adds comic book store and replaceable battery 'concept' -- Engadget

Dunno about Notion Ink for sure, but I know Pixel Qi is going places, and I"m watching them closely. Can't wait for a 10 inch tablet with a PixelQi screen.

Hrm, now that I say that, maybe I can find a 10 inch tablet and fit a pixelQi screen into it....

I just saw the price of this, and I'm impressed. Might even get one.

I love the digital ink. I have a laptop for portable computing, but I'd like something I can bring along to read on. Seems like I may have a solution

I like my iPad because I have kindle, kobo, and bookshelf (baen free library ftw) all installed. I can buy from any ebook store as there can be a significant price difference between them. That being said, it'd be nice to have the 'paper like' display, although I haven't noticed any eye strain on the iPad and I've probably read 40 novels on it in the last 4 months.
