Tons of hype. 12am openings for most major vendors and a lot of kids skipping school.

Halo 2 was all about the online gameplay, which is AWESOME, STILL!... I continue to murder people here and there. The actual game was disappointing though. Way to easy, way to short... and way to similar to the first.

I'm not holding my breath for 3, but I will probably pick it up eventually.

I think Crackdown has the Halo 3 mutiplayer demo. For some reason I can't highlight it on Xbox.

I purchased my invite through the Crackdown game. Its a decent game but I doubt I would have purchased Crackdown if it didn't include the H3 demo.

Halo was a great game and H2 was awesome...I had always been addicted to FPS style games but H2 introduced me to the xbox. Before I was a Sony fanboy but now ive bought into the microsoft system and have had a 360 since launch. H3 has basically kept me going since Gears of War.

I like the Halo series, but yeah. There's games out there that are better that don't get the hype. It's just that none have been released in the past 7 years.

I miss the days of games such as Shadow Warrior or Unreal Tournament or Serious Sam, where the creators showed serious imagination... instead of falling into the glut of WW2 themed games or ripping off every sci-fi novel that hasn't been made into a movie yet.

EDIT: (I've recently dug into my old games like Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior... is it me or were games actually harder back then?)
