he, logged out and back in and he could see them, but someone did grief my place slightly and a painting was missing, holes in glass in places, lava missing, signs to my island gone, and automatic cactus farm destroyed partially.

I've noticed that there are some torches missing from the roads. I'm guessing it's either a server glitch, or there's a really pathetic griefer running around.

after seeing deadmeat's damage i would have to say it's a pathetic griefer, not griefing for fun, but just someone who sucks so much at the game he can't find any resources on his own: he only seems to break blocks of significant usefulness. he took cactus from deadmeat's automatic cactus farm, for example, even though it is automatic and all he had to do to get them for free was to wait for a 2nd layer to break off, and someone who sucks at the game wouldn't know that...

I keep randomly dying

Respawn, walk a few blocks, die. Going to wait for the server restart incase it's some random server issue.

I think its one of the newer guys, because I griefed a couple things when I started out but i always tried to fix it or admitted to it.
