Finally lifted weights for the first time last night.

Time for me to get sexy and buff... Mar has been turning me down lately, so I know I'm out of shape.

Truth: Do to a shoulder injury I've been out for a long time. I've learned that I still have a tear in my shoulder, but I can manage it, if I use dumbbells and not barbells.

Worked great last night.
Following this program right now for dumbbells:
Dumbbell Only Home Or Gym Full Body Workout | Muscle & Strength

It's basic, but it's what I need right now. Then hit the treadmill for some "hill repeats". I'll do 3 miles on the treadmill tonight and on my off days.

I also signed up for a race series called "C.A.R.S", Capital Area Race Series, and did the first race last weekend... The next one will be this weekend.

Next I need to really concentrate on my eating well. But I feel this is a good start for me.

Cheap steroid huh? Good deal then.. Mar, send me down some.

As for my shoulder, no bad kinks or anything this morning. I'm of course starting with lighter weights and working my way up, but I feel a slow progression is better than none at all.

Im having problems with my shoulder too. The doctor gave me the OK to start lifting, but even at very little weight im having pains. Before my injury I was bench pressing 75lb dumbells, but now it hurts when use 15lb ones. I guess i just have to take it slow for a couple of months and build it up gradually by adding 5 pounds every 3 or 4 weeks.
Its just annoying knowing i can do more, but my shoulder is holding me back.

try closer grip with a bar on the bench. about shoulder width, or a little narrower. Less stress on shoulder. Abandon ALL shoulder presses... I have torn my cuff (small tear) three times... I give up on presses...

^thanks, ill try that. Im also going to start up my PT excersises again to see if that helps.
I tore my labrum, which keep the ball in the socket. I was told it shouldnt be an issue to start heavy lifting within a couple of months, but im going to go as slow as possible so i dont mess up my surgery.
