Ohh...man don't get me started with how much they nerfed those russian scouts. I thought, when they had it in game before it was turned into the MT-25, that the T-50-2 was able to mount a 76mm cannon. Something that could at least penetrate most tier 10s from the back if you knew where to shoot. The nerf effectively made the MT-25 and T-50 tanks just stepping stones to other tanks up the tech tree. I don't think anyone keeps them in their garage anymore.
Hell, I did love driving my T-50 before the nerf. To me, the T-50 was a good enough tank ON ITS OWN to just stop there. And I actually did that. I never even got the T-50-2. But after the nerf I played maybe 4 games with it said, "What the heck is this? I can do better in a Pz38na!" I no choice. I had to sell it.
I almost wish they had some sort of training room where you can go and play the pre-nerfed tanks. I'd go in there and run the T-50 and T-50-2 all day.

Now, it seems like the only decent tier 5 scouts are the ELC and the Chaffee.

I'll add you ratherdashing. BTW, I'm in Astoria. Good to know there's someone out there that plays on the West server.

I had always heard the T-50 and T-50-2 were good, should have tried them out when I had the chance. The MT-25 isn't much of a stepping stone, I think you can go the same route, a different way. It's just painful to drive. What is your username? Same as here?

got the chaffee not too long ago: not the fastest thing ever, but it accelerates pretty well and turns around fast. I fail to understand why people would mount the giant, ugly, heavy "upgrade" turret on such a nice tank.... It's not like the gun that turret carries can save you from a tier 10 anyway :P

On the note of pre-nerfed Russian scouts, I loved my T-50: I used to go zipping around in that thing and powerslide circles around high tier heavy tanks... it drove them bonkers. Arty hunting was equally glorious.
I got the tank again after the nerf and didn't recognize it. the Chinese Stuart is a better scout than the "rebalanced" T-50 is.

Top gun on the Chaffee is actually way worth the ugly turret. Accuracy on the move is uncanny and that fast firing lil 76mm has surprising pen.

I, too, prefer the original turret, but the benefits of the goofy turret more than makes up for the aesthetics, IMHO.

I may have to get a Chafee. I used to see them all of the time, but hardly anymore. Heck, the only scouts I see anymore are german or chinese.

just got the T20. Probably the best american medium tank I've had so far. The gun is way more usable than the one on the Comet (which I hated) and the tank seems to play relatively well even against tier 9's.
I think I enjoy playing it more than I do my T29.

Really? I have finally come to terms with that tank. Never really liked it much. Hated it at first until I got it fully Upgraded. Armor isn't that great and the gun is bad in my opinion.

I loved the E8, just got a jumbo and digging it, and loved the Sherman. But, then again, I enjoyed the Lee.....

My wife needed me for something when I was driving my E8 once. I said, "sure, let me kill myself first." I drove straight over to the other side, expecting to get toasted. Everything they shot at me bounced, and I steam rolled the entire side by myself, getting top gun and invader. It was such an epic moment.

Easy eight was decent, but nothing special; especially when placed alongside Cromwell, which has a similar gun with much higher top speed.

I hated the Jumbo. Too slow to push flanks and do fast maneuvers like the easy eight could, and while the armor was decent at tier 6; I almost never saw a tier 6 game. Against anything above tier 6; the Jumbo is almost more useless than a standard tier 5 Sherman because the armor just weighs it down and doesn't actually protect it from many tier 7+ guns.

T20 has reasonable mobility, and, while the gun is not stellar, it can actually hurt things that are higher tier than it is. Maybe my bad experience with the Comet has made me more appreciative of useful equipment, but the tank seems better than most of the tier 7's that I've encountered. I don't mind so much if a tank doesn't have armor, so long as it is fast enough to get out of the way should something big shoot in my direction.

I like the T20 once it was fully upgraded. Once I got into higher tiers I made the mistake of ignoring them. That gun will pen tier 8 and 9 tanks if you're not careful.

The Chaffe plays well enough but the high repair bill made me sell mine off. I expect to die in a scout more often than not so I don't want to keep paying for a full repair.

I am actually coming up on the T20 and T29 now. Since I am running the E2 I have been told to go with the T20 since I supposedly miss out on some upgrades I would have gotten going through the heavy line rather than medium. What do you guys say?
